Frequently asked

Questions, answered.

Do we need to replace our existing streetlights?

No. CitiLight retrofits onto your existing infrastructure — NEMA and Zhaga controllers clip into standard sockets, and pole-mount units suit older fixtures. Most installs take under a minute per luminaire with no rewiring.

Which wireless networks are supported?

All the major ones — LoRaWAN®, NB-IoT, 4G/LTE and RF mesh — so you can use a private network or a carrier, whatever already works in your city. No vendor lock-in.

How accurate is the energy metering?

Class 1 (±1%) billing-grade accuracy at both individual-light and feeder (CCMS) levels — precise enough for utility settlement, audits and verified savings reporting.

Can CitiLight integrate with our existing platform?

Yes. VELOCITi exposes REST and MQTT APIs and supports common GIS and command-centre integrations, so lighting data flows into the systems you already operate.

How is the system secured?

Every device uses per-key AES-128 encryption end to end. The platform adds role-based access control, SSO, full audit logging and secure over-the-air firmware updates.

What does a typical deployment look like?

Most cities start with a pilot ward, validate savings and service improvements in VELOCITi, then scale district by district. Our team supports survey, rollout planning and operator training throughout.

What support do you provide after rollout?

Dedicated customer success, SLA-backed support, remote diagnostics and continuous over-the-air improvements keep your network healthy for its full lifecycle.
